JieGou has evolved.

Since this post was published, JieGou has pivoted from an AI automation platform to an AI-powered operations company delivering managed marketing and operations services. Learn about our managed services →

Your marketing team just recorded a 45-minute webinar. Now someone has to watch the whole thing, find the best moments, cut clips to different aspect ratios, write captions, generate thumbnails, and upload to Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok — each with its own format requirements. That process takes hours. Multiply it by every video you produce, and you have a full-time job that nobody signed up for.

JieGou’s new Video Splitting Platform eliminates the manual work while keeping humans in control of what gets published.

The end-to-end flow

Everything starts at /deploy/video-splitter. Upload a video, and the platform walks you through seven stages — from raw footage to published clips.

1. Upload and analyze. Drop your video file into the timeline UI. JieGou’s MCP video tools extract metadata, detect scene boundaries, and generate a full transcript with timestamps.

2. AI suggests split points. The Video Split Planner recipe reads the transcript, identifies topic shifts and high-engagement moments, and places draggable split markers on the visual timeline. Each suggested clip includes a rationale — “product demo starts here,” “audience question about pricing” — so you understand why the AI chose that boundary.

3. Human review. Drag markers to adjust. Merge clips. Delete segments that don’t work. The timeline shows platform preview cards for Instagram Reels (9:16), YouTube Shorts (9:16), and TikTok (9:16) side by side, so you can see exactly how each clip will look before any processing begins.

4. Generate clips. Once you confirm the split points, JieGou re-encodes each segment for precise cuts. No black frames, no audio glitches — the kind of artifact-free output you’d expect from a professional editing suite. Each clip is reformatted to the target platform’s specifications automatically.

5. AI-powered metadata. Three more recipes run on your clips: the Clip Titler generates platform-appropriate titles, the Caption Generator creates captions with proper timing, and the Thumbnail Selector picks the most visually compelling frame from each segment.

6. Approval gate. Here is where JieGou diverges from every other video tool on the market. Before anything is published, the clips enter an approval workflow. Managers review titles, captions, thumbnails, and the clips themselves. They can approve, reject with notes, or request changes. Nothing goes live without explicit sign-off.

7. Publish. Approved clips are published to their target platforms through JieGou’s messaging channel integrations. The Series Planner recipe can space out your clips across a content calendar, turning one webinar into a week of social content.

8 MCP video processing tools

The platform is built on eight specialized MCP tools that handle the technical heavy lifting:

  • Analyze — extract duration, resolution, codec, and format metadata
  • Transcribe — generate timestamped transcripts with speaker detection
  • Detect scenes — identify visual and audio boundaries for natural split points
  • Split — re-encode segments at precise timestamps without artifacts
  • Reformat — convert aspect ratio and resolution for each target platform
  • Thumbnail — extract and rank candidate frames from each clip
  • Captions — generate timed subtitle tracks in SRT and VTT formats
  • Platform specs — apply bitrate, codec, and duration constraints per platform

These tools work independently, so recipes and workflows can compose them in any order.

5 AI recipes

Each recipe solves one piece of the video-to-clips puzzle:

  1. Video Split Planner — analyzes the transcript and suggests optimal split points with reasoning
  2. Clip Titler — generates platform-tuned titles (short for TikTok, keyword-rich for YouTube)
  3. Caption Generator — produces timed captions with proper line breaks and reading speed
  4. Thumbnail Selector — scores candidate frames on visual clarity, face presence, and text readability
  5. Series Planner — maps clips to a publishing calendar with optimal posting times per platform

2 governed workflows

Recipes handle individual tasks. Workflows chain them together with approval gates.

Long-Form to Multi-Platform (8 steps): Upload, analyze, transcribe, suggest splits, human review, generate clips, metadata generation, approval gate, publish. This is the full pipeline for turning one video into platform-ready clips.

Video Series Publisher (5 steps): Take approved clips, run the Series Planner, generate a content calendar, approval gate, scheduled publish. This workflow turns a batch of clips into a coordinated multi-day campaign.

Both workflows pause at approval gates. Execution does not continue until an authorized team member reviews and approves. This is not a notification — it is a hard stop in the pipeline.

Why approval gates matter

Marketing teams operate under brand guidelines, legal review requirements, and compliance obligations. A video clip that goes viral for the wrong reasons is a crisis, not a success.

Every other tool in this space treats publishing as the end of an automated pipeline. JieGou treats it as a decision that requires human judgment.

The approval gate captures who approved what, when, and with what context. That audit trail matters for regulated industries, but it also matters for any team that has ever had an intern accidentally publish a draft to the company’s main account.

How JieGou compares

Buffer, Hootsuite, Later — these platforms schedule video posts across social channels. But they expect you to arrive with finished clips. They do not split, reformat, or generate metadata. You still need a video editor.

Opus Clip, Vizard, Descript — AI-powered video clipping tools that are genuinely good at finding highlights and cutting clips. But they stop at export. There are no approval workflows, no governance, no audit trail. The person running the tool is the only checkpoint before content goes live.

Zapier, Make, n8n — workflow automation platforms that can trigger third-party video APIs. But they have no native video processing. You are stitching together external services, managing API keys, and debugging format incompatibilities.

JieGou is the first platform to combine AI-driven split planning, governed approval workflows, and multi-platform publishing in a single pipeline. You get the efficiency of AI automation with the oversight your organization requires.

Get started

The Video Splitting Platform is available now for all JieGou accounts. Navigate to /deploy/video-splitter in your console to upload your first video.

If you are processing more than a few videos per week, the workflow templates will save the most time. Set up the Long-Form to Multi-Platform workflow once, configure your approval chain, and every future video follows the same governed path from upload to publish.

One video in. Platform-perfect clips out. With a human saying “yes” before anything goes live.
